Rabbit Trax - Adventure Humans - Blog Post

Rabbit TraX is an Overlanding and adventure-themed Instagram Page featuring Moon Rabbit Media members Seth F. Johnson, Scott Johnson, and Seth’s fiancée Minji Kim.

On our latest adventure, we went up to North Georgia and explored the Chattahoochee National Forest and the surrounding areas. On this trip, we hiked to the Brasstown Bald Visitors Center and checked out their 360-degree observation tower which is on Georgia’s tallest mountain, went panning for gold at the Consolidated Gold Mine in Dahlonega, GA, and managed to find about 30¢ worth of gold, explored trails and fire service roads, did several water crossings including driving down a river and disperse camped in Vogel State Park, Tray Mountain Wilderness, Southern Nantahala Wilderness, and Nantahala National Forest.

North Georgia is an absolutely amazing area and has no shortage of beautiful streams, waterfalls, and mountains to explore and photograph. Each night at camp we took turns reading Appalachian ghost stories out of a book we picked up in Great Smoky Mountains National Park, last year.

The Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road got several upgrades for this trip including a Martin Off-road Foundation Rack, Cali Raised Duel Functions LED Light Bar, Lasfit 3" LED Pod lights, Cali Raised 8-panel switcher/fuse box, and ABS plastic cutting board tailgate insert.

This was the Rabbit TraX debut for the Jeep Gladiator and it performed like a champ! There is a lot of gear on the Gladiator but the most notable feature would have to be the massive 37” BAJA BOSS M/T tires by Mickey Thompson paired with the Fifteen52 Analog HD wheels in Asphalt Black.

Rabbit TraX - Moon Rabbit Media's Next Big Adventure

Rabbit TraX is an overlanding and adventure-themed Instagram Page featuring Moon Rabbit Media members Seth F. Johnson, Scott Johnson, Andrew Jones, and Seth’s fiancée Minji Kim.

Overlanding is a form of self-reliant travel in which adventurers only have access to what they bring with them or can carry on their “rig”. Often traveling hundreds of miles off the beaten path, they make use of Forest Service roads or even unmapped routes to reach their desired destination. For this adventure, the Rabbit TraX crew carried 24 gal of water, 26 gal of gas, 7 lb of propane, a portable shower, refrigerator, rooftop tent, and a solar panel with an electric generator for charging.

The first adventure for Rabbit TraX was a twenty-six day journey. The team traveled over 7,000 miles and across nine states in a Toyota Tacoma TRD Off Road and Jeep Wrangler JK Sahara to complete their first adventure.

For several days when the team was driving hundreds of miles through the wilderness they never crossed paths with people or paved roads. Temperatures dropped from 114 °F down to 30 °F, and they even managed to see and touch some snow in mid-July.
